Mormons Made Simple

While browsing around YouTube, I came across some short videos called Mormons Made Simple. I watched the two videos they had and I loved them. I think I even created a post on my old blog. Humm, maybe not.

I loved those little videos so I added them to my “Subscriptions” list on my YouTube account. Today, I checked the Mormons Made Simple Channel and found that they had posted 3 or 4 new little videos. I watched them all and liked them all. I really like how they put them together. They truly are simple and well written explanations, plus, they are presented in a cartoon like fashion that just makes it all kind of fun to watch.

The video I’m posting today is about Mormon Myths. There are many myths out there about the Mormon church. This short video doesn’t cover them all, but it does some of the most popular ones.

Growing

About every 6 months we have this little event that happens in our house. It is not planned, it isn’t scheduled, it just happens spontaniously. We look at the wall behind our bathroom door and find that it is time to measure the height of our kids again.

It isn’t a glamorous place to put this information but it is aways exciting for everyone to see just how much they grew over the last 6 months. Strangely enough, my mark on the wall doesn’t ever seem to change.

Just such an event occurred last week and I decided to take some pictures.

Here are the results.

We would probably have been wiser to take a board, paint it nicely, and then put it up against the wall and mark it every 6 months. That way we can take it with us if we ever do move. I guess we could always cut out the wall if we ever left.

Feeling Old

Well, it has finally happened, I am starting to have to move things away from my eyes in able to focus and read. I started noticying this when I was climbing under people’s desks to work on their computers. There are tags on the back and on the top of computers that tell you what make and model it is. Reciently, I have had a hard time reading these little tags. I really didn’t worry about it because I was under a desk and it is kind of dark. But, today in church, I noticed that I could not read some fine print on a page I was reading. I took it up close, then far away, then up close again. My eyes strained, but they could not focus on the letters. Now, this is in a very well lit LDS church so I really can not blame it on the dark recesses of a computers nook. I’m definitely starting to go blind!

bifocals

I don’t know when I’ll have to wear (old man’s glasses) but I do see that it will be coming sooner, rather than later.
