Service Project
My parents are the founders of a non-profit organization called Charity Anywhere. Since they have retired, they began managing the foundation full time. My Dad, (Gordon Carter) manages multiple service projects every year. He has helped families all around the world but his focus is usually on helping the people of northern Mexico.
Since my Father founded the charity, I have been able to participate in several service project. I have been to Ecuador twice and Mexico three times. The projects are usually one week long and enable volunteers to work side by side with native Mexicans to help build or repair a home. Although my parents are member of the LDS Church, they pride themselves in serving anyone, anywhere. Most of the volunteers are Mormons but the charity happens to be non-denominational.
Although I don’t have a lot of time to be able to volunteer on these week long expeditions, I do try to help out where I can with their website and their blog.
They also have a local chapter of Charity Anywhere Foundation in Quito Ecuador. Washington Zambrano, a local dentist, started the local chapter of CAF and has done an awesome job at growing their services. Washington has been able to gather volunteers in the medical and dental professions to help give free medical care to the native Ecuadorians in need.
DO GOOD AND BE GOOD. I’m amazed at how much they’ve done with Charity Anywhere. Just a little guy from Idaho and he’s helped so many people!!!
